richdre over at Crazy Town forums has an entire collection of some really amazing worlds for you to download and enjoy. One of my favourites is Lost Island, an exotic little island littered with secret tombs and buried treasures. Adventurous Sims seeking riches and thrills will feel right at home here in Lost Island.

Woot! The Sims 3 Create a World Tool is now out! It came out this morning, I downloaded it, had a few seconds play but then I had to rush off to school so I didn’t have time to let you all know! Update: Ok, I now feel abused :( Sorry guys – but unfortunately the Create a World Tool is yet again not coming out when expected. IGN removed the notice saying that it was going to be released today and claim that the Beta Tool will be out ’shortly’. I just feel a bit upset but will definitely let you know if anything new comes up. Sorry if I let you down, I feel let down myself.

Wow, just had to post this this morning, there’s still loads of other news but that can wait until later this afternoon. First of all, there’s a definite release date! Today – Tuesday 15th December! It’s not available yet but it will be shortly.  That’s not all, we also have a review from IGN (check it out):

For the most part, creators will probably prefer to maintain the basic GUI for the Create A World tool, visually seeing the placement of items and environmental work in a general area on their map. However, for players that want precise placement, the tool can be swapped to a wire frame or grid layout to allow you to put objects exactly where you want them to be. Of course, once you’ve finished the design of your world, you’ll want to test it out, and the Create A World editor will allow you to explore your new map by instantly launching The Sims 3 so you can see what it would look like in the game world. This “pseudo-game” feature will also allow players to build and furnish houses on lots that have previously been constructed in the tool, and will let you place created Sims in the map so you can test the navigability of your pathways and other items.

Just found from EA that there’s going to be another new update and the Create-a-World Tool will be available shortly within this month, December, here’s what they said:

We wanted to let you know that a new Game Update for The Sims 3 and the release of The Sims™ 3 Create a World Tool – BETA will be coming this month. Updates are the primary way for us to offer new features for your games, address any issues, and keep you up-to-date on the latest information to support online features. The upcoming December update will include several items, but we’d like to tell you today about one new feature specifically that we’re really excited about.

Introducing – Shop Mode! You heard right folks. The December update will introduce a button that will allow you to shop from The Sims 3 Store from inside your game. This new feature will enhance your shopping experience at The Sims 3 Store and allow you to access The Sims 3 Store via Shop Mode from the main menu, build or buy mode or during Create-a-Sim. As you purchase new items, they will be added to your catalog, while your game is running. You can browse the full Store catalog directly from your game and purchase furniture, décor, hair, clothing – without ever closing your game. This is a really exciting new experience for The Sims series, and we look forward to sharing with you!

Hey guys, a new Worlds category has been added to TheSims3.com – you can check it out yourself here. It’s quite odd that if you follow the page, you get lead to a 404 error, but this could just be a message that the Create-A-World tool is going to be released very soon so they are doing up the site in advance!

Or it could just be a small error..

This is looking good! SimTimes discovered that the German The Sims 3 Fanpage on Facebook updated with a message with information regarding the release date for the Create-a-World tool. It claims that the release of the tool is coming shortly, on December 10th to be exact! Here is what they said (thank to SimOperations for the translation & screenshot):

Hello! All those are already looking forward to the fact that they would soon create their own neighborhoods, may see even once the new product page for the Create a World-tool and learn more about the features. The tool will be from 10 December to give a free download.
