Hey all! Ambitions is finally here and I’ve been lucky enough to get the new expansion and play it for a few days. Now I’m giving my review here!

Introduction

The Sims 3 Ambitions is the newest expansion pack for The Sims 3, released on June 1st, 2010. For the first time ever, Simmers can control what their Sims do at work and shape the world around them with their skills (or lack of skill) in the workplace. Choose from several exciting new careers like Firefighting, Private Investigating, Fashion Designing and Architectural Design.

EA has recently released some new screenshots and music videos for their upcoming expansion pack, The Sims 3 Ambitions!

Grant Rodiek has posted a new entry to his blog, in which he reveals more information about the Architecture, Tattoo Artist and Fashion Designer careers. There are also some new screenshots from these careers for you to enjoy.

“Some players of The Sims never leave the deep architectural shopping catalog that is Buy Mode or the Create a Sim character creation machine. We’re completely fine with this, but we couldn’t overlook the opportunity to bring these wildly creative players into Live Mode for The Sims 3 Ambitions.

The Architectural Design and Stylist careers will do exactly this, while setting your Sim up as a tattoo artist with a tattoo chair is another sure-fire way to get your creative fix in Live Mode. Get ready for a “day in the life” as we follow a Sim in each of these professions!“

S3N recently reported on some more news regarding the next Sims 3 Expansion Pack. At first, we heard some rumours of The Sims 3 Hobbies & Professions however, recently the name has changed to The Sims 3: Ambitions, I don’t know which sounds better, I don’t know if it really matters, but as S3N is a Dutch site, it could just be a different translation. Sims 3 expansion pack names are often changed from country to country in order to make sense but when translated all to one language, they’re different. So I’ll keep you updated but The Sims 3 Hobbies & Professions sounds more like EA than The Sims 3: Ambitions in my opinion.

Sims 3 fans are starting to run riot, within the last few days, two expansion pack covers have been uncovered but later proved fake. One for The Sims 3 Hobbies & Professions (which is a hopeful next expansion pack) and another for The Sims 3 Spellbound (just made up). They do look quite good but have their let-downs. This sounds good! Recently, we have heard rumours regarding The Sims 3 Hobbies & Professions being the next Expansion Pack for The Sims 3. This has always sounded like a fun idea but I just thought it would stay a rumour and would get proved wrong sooner or later. It’s still not certain, but Take 2 has recently added a listing for The Sims 3 Hobbies & Professions which could give more evidence to say that it’s coming. Obviously, if it is the next EP, the name is liable to change and release date is uncertain, however, the listing says that it will be released on June 4th 2010.

CinemaBlend has recently published a pretty awesome article on their top five ideas for the next The Sims 3 Expansion Pack. Their ideas sound pretty nice and are well explained, I highly recommend you reading them. Let me know your thoughts on their ideas!

With a game like The Sims there are seemingly endless ways in which you can engage your Sims in various time-filling (or time-sucking, if you’re going by the player’s perspective) ways, however it’s the expansion packs that often introduce new interactions, jobs and activities that are game-changing enough to keep the game fresh and keep those of us who love to play house with hour Sim-families busy for hours and hours.

Since the release of The Sims 3 last June, there’s already been one expansion pack released. World Adventures allows Sims to travel to three different countries, do adventures, acquire new skills and meet new people. They can even learn local songs and come home with an inventory full of treasure. So what’s next for The Sims 3? We got the High End Loft Stuff Pack, but stuff packs are just stuff. Not exactly game changing.

There has been a little rumour going around lately that the next Sims 3 Expansion Pack is going to be something along the line of “The Sims 3 Hobbies and Professions” it’s not yet totally confirmed but S3N found a message on the official Sims 3 Forums with some interesting stuff. Somebody stated the following (roughly translated):

I know someone who works at Bart Smith who told me yesterday that the new release list had been inside, and there was a new sims 3 in expansion: The Sims 3 Hobbies and Professions. If all goes well it comes out on June 4, exactly one year later that the sims 3 released.

So does this mean that the next Sims 3 Expansion pack is going to be The Sims 3 Hobbies and Professions? It’s likely that the name will be changed and it may even be removed completely but we’re never sure. I will keep you all updated, this could be quite a fun Expansion Pack.

I wish they would stop changing the name, it’s just getting slightly confusing now :P Just found a new HD cover for The Sims 3 High End Loft Stuff (or whatever you know it as) – can’t wait to see the game which will be coming out some time in February.
