IGN: High End Loft Stuff Review
14 Feb
Haven’t been posting many High End Loft Stuff reviews, but I thought this one deserves it. Another well written review thanks to IGN with some great info if you’ve been thinking about buying the game. Enjoy.
The Stuff Pack has a decent selection of high-end objects in various categories, so you’ll be able to an entire house brimming with the modern gadgets. Even if your Sim’s house doesn’t have all the rooms for it, there are objects for an office, the bedroom, the kitchen, the living room, and more. However, the Stuff Pack does not come with any new textures, wallpaper, or carpets; you might have some high-class stuff in the rooms, but the room itself will still be limited to the same number of options.
EA Press Release: Brits Spring Clean and Improve Home Furnishings
14 Feb
Ok, this is pretty weird.. and different. It’s a press release from EA a few days ago. It’s obviously promoting The Sims 3 High End Loft Stuff but it’s still quite odd. Anyway, check it out, read it, and be confused.
EA RESEARCH SHOWS £10BILLION DEEP FREEZE DE-CLUTTER
IN FAVOUR OF HIGH-TECH STUFFGUILDFORD, UK. February 9, 2010 – Brits have cleared out over £10billion worth of furnishings and material items already this year in a bid to de-clutter their homes. Over 66 per cent of the adult population are having a spring clean and expect to throw away or recycle an average of £338 of unwanted clutter per person. According to new research released today by Electronic Arts, publishers of best-selling videogame franchise The Sims™, the extended cold period or ‘deep freeze’ at the start of 2010 saw many Brits holed up indoors, giving them plenty of time to assess their surroundings.
The survey by OnePoll, conducted to mark the launch of The Sims 3™ Design & High-tech Stuff pack*, which allows players to create the modern lifestyle for their Sims with cool new furnishings and the latest gadgets, found that the number of UK homes receiving a spring clean this year has increased by more than 20 per cent compared to last year, thanks to the icy weather and the start of a new decade. Additionally, nearly 20 per cent of those surveyed said 2010 was a landmark year for them to revamp their homes, a new look for a new decade.
British homeowners predict they will spend an average of £2,000 this year replacing and improving home furnishings taking the trend ‘don’t move – improve’ to the next level.
Top items that are being thrown away as the nation de-clutters include kitchen gadgets such as ice-cream makers and George Foreman Grills and inherited items from cutlery and crockery to old furniture and ornaments passed down through families. More than 70 per cent of Brits admit to hoarding unnecessary items.
Many are also aiming to upgrade home technology – over 30 per cent of Brits are clearing out DVDs and CDs – an indication that they are being replaced with newer technology that allows music, films and TV programmes to be downloaded directly onto home entertainment systems.
The items people are most likely to invest in once they’ve cleared the decks are:
A new flat screen television – 35 per cent
New lighting – 23 per cent
Home computer/laptop – 20 per cent
A new fridge – 16 per cent
New music/speaker system – 13 per centAnna Ryder Richardson, TV presenter and interior designer commented:

The Sims 3 High End Loft Stuff Info and Screens Leaked!
31 Jan
Yay! More info about The Sims 3 High End Loft Stuff! One lucky member on The Sims 3 Forum has already got the game and is posting information and screenshots about it! Check it out:
From what SimPrograms gathered from the multiple posts he made, I have concluded the following:
With the new “All My Fishes Aquarium” – you can put fish in your tank that you have caught and show them off to other sims.
“Are your Sims interested in oceanography? Any vegetarian Sims sick of seeing fish get eaten by their friends and relatives? Sims can now fill their homes with the life of the ocean thanks to the All My Fishes Aquarium. Catch fish and put them in your aquarium, instead of the fridge. Just don’t forget to feed them and keep the tank clean”
Unfortunately, there still aren’t any hot tubs available in the game and there is no leaflet of any info about a new Expansion Pack in the box. It’s true! If you register the game online, you get 1000 free Sim points! The guitar sounds different from others and you can vibrate in the heart bed. Requirements are same as World Adventures, except, it takes 300 MB of free space. Isn’t that guy lucky, it sounds like a decent EP, well done EA!
