Sims 3 CheatsHere are all (will be updated if I find out about any new ones) the cheats that I know of with explanations on how to use them and what they can do. There have been others advertised on the web however when I have tested them they have not seemed to have worked. If there are any more you know of that you have tested, please tell me by commenting here or posting in our forum. To open the cheat window hold down CTRL+SHIFT+C and a window at the top should appear where you can enter your cheats. If this does not work, and you are on Vista, try CTRL+ALT WINDOWS+C all at the same time. Now here are the cheats of which you will enter into the window.

Kaching –
Gives you an extra 1,000 Simoleons.

Motherlode –
Gives you an extra 50,000 Simoleons.

Shazaam (Collectors Edition only, I have heard but not tested) –
Adds 2,500 lifetime happiness points to active sim.

FreeRealEstate (I found out how to work it, this cheat can only be done when in ‘Edit Town’ mode. So once you have finished making your family, go into Edit Town mode, do the cheat, and place a copy of them into the house.) –
Ignores the cost when buying a lot.

TestingCheatsEnabled [True/False] –
There are many things you can do once you have this enabled, listed as follows:
SHIFT+CLICK on the post box gives you these options:

  • Make all happy – Boosts all needs.
  • Force visitor – Forces a visitor to appear.
  • Make needs static – Makes all needs static, you never have to fill needs again.
  • Set career – Enables you to choose from any career possible.
  • Force NPC – Enables you to choose from any random NPC to occur (like the Grim Reaper).
  • Make everyone know me – Makes everybody know the active sim.
  • Make friends for me – Makes good friends for active sim.

SHIFT+CLICK on active sim gives you these options:

  • Modify traits – Allows you to modify traits for active sim.
  • Trigger age transition – Allows you to make the active sim age.

SHIFT+CLICK on the ground allows you the option to teleport there.

SHIFT+CLICK on a sim not in your household allows you to add them to our household.

Those are all the cheats I have heard of in that category, so here are some more to enter in the cheat window.

unlockOutfits [True/False] –
View career outfits and service uniforms.

moveObjects [True/False] –
No limitations for placing/moving objects.

resetSim [First name] [Last name] –
Return Sims to safe and neutral state at home.

constrainFloorElevation [True/False] –
Force terrain adjustments regardless of objects, Sims, and other structures.

disableSnappingToSlotsOnAlt [True/False] –
Objects will not snap to slots while holding ALT.

fadeObjects [True/False] –
Objects fade when camera gets close to them.

snapObjectsToAngle [True/False] –
Toggle 45 degree angle object snap.

snapObjectsToGrid [True/False] –
Toggle snap to grid for placed objects.

hideHeadlineEffects [True/False] –
Show talk/thought balloons above Sim’s head.

jokePlease –
Print random joke to console.

enableLlamas [True/False] –
Llamas enabled message.

slowMotionViz: [0-8] –
Slow motion visuals; 0 is normal, 8 is slowest.

fps [True/False] –
Toggle frame rate display at top right.

fullscreen [True/False] –
Full screen.
