Ever been wondering how to do really awesome and different things on The Sims 3? Well here is a bunch of hints and tricks that I have found out about, used or read on the web at one point. Not all of these are tested by me personally, but most are so no need to be worried about anything. If you know about or find any new tricks that you have found useful or just plain fun in The Sims 3, please feel free to share them by commenting below!
How to have a Baby Ghost
- Set your Sim’s traits to Kleptomaniac (must be female)
- Go to the community graveyard
- Wait until your sim steals remains or tell sim to swipe something (remains must be male)
- On the second day since stealing grave and putting it in home, the ghost will appear at 11:00pm and disappear at 4:00am it will appear every other day
- Socialize with ghost every night it appears until you are at best friend ghost will then begin appearing every night
- Get fertility reward
- Confess attraction to ghost
- Ask to snuggle on bed, kiss
- Try for baby every night until you start throwing up
- Congrats! You’re now having a ghost’s baby! (It will be born as a ghost that you can control)
How to almost 100% Choose the Gender of your Babies.
You must have a pregnant female to do this.
Eating apples will increase your chances of having boys!
(i.e. 3 apples = 3 boys)
On the other hand, eating watermelons will increase your chances of having girls!
(i.e. 3 watermelons = 3 girls)
To have increased chances of twins or triplets have one or both parents have the lifetime reward of fertility treatment. I heard this from someone else. I had my pregnant female eat three watermelons to test it out and it worked! She had 3 triplet girls.
How to Earn Easy Money ‘No Cheats!’
Start writing novels on your computer. Write fiction novels as they take the least amount of time. They will not bring you too much Simoleons. When you write, your skill will automatically advance. If your skill is high enough, you will be able to write more novel types/genres. The most money can be made from “Romance Novels”. You will get royalties for six weeks once you finish a book. With the “Writing” skill maxed out, you can make approximately 40,000 Simoleons every week, which is more than the 34,800 Simoleons you can get by purchasing all neighborhood businesses, and takes less time to achieve. In three game weeks you should have a very high speed writing, 9 or 10 novels as best sellers, and 100,000 Simoleons.
How to be Protected from Death
Go to Pleasant Rest Graveyard, and near the gate, there is a strange bush called a “Death Flower Bush” – Harvest the flower from it.
If you keep this flower in your sim’s inventory, when you die the grim reaper will trade it for a second chance at life.
This flower will not reappear, but there are Unknown Special Seeds (requires level 7 Gardening to plant) dotted about near the graveyard (and a few other places) which may grow another Death Flower (and sometimes more if your Sim has the Green Thumb trait to revive the plant.)
How to Make Friends Easily ‘No Cheats!’
Buy a guitar. Play it to learn how to play guitar. Keep playing until you reach 5/10 level, which gives you the ability to “Play For Tips”. When you have that ability, go to the park with the guitar in your inventory. When you are in the park, click the guitar in your inventory, and select “Play For Tips.” People watching you will become your friends if you keep playing. The higher your guitar skill, the faster they will become friends with you.
I had my pregnant sim eat 3 apples to have a boy and she had a girl instead so that did not work for me
It's not always a 100% definite success rate however if you try again there could be a chance that it works.

Hey I just recently got sims 3 and to get triplets you have to watch the kids channel read teh two pregnacy book while listening to kids radio station. Make sure when you listen to the radio it is on high. Then to choose what u want a boy or girl u eat 3 apples in a row for a boy and 3 watermelons in a row for a girl (:
I'd just like to say that for the apple/watermelon thing they have to be wearing their maternity wear already for it to work. I find it gives you opposite affects otherwise.
Another thing I read about somewhere else is if your sim is pregnant and you have a doctor in the house then have the doctor define the gender of the baby but then eat the opposite fruit and you will have one boy twin and one girl twin. Wow, its funny that you should mention that. The same exact thing happened to me. I noticed that my male Sim wanted a boy and my female Sim was already pregnant. So with my male Sim, who was a Neurosurgeon at the time, I clicked on her and the option “Determine Sex of the Baby” appeared; when it said girl, I was devastated, so I remember reading the thing about the apples and watermelons, so I went to the supermarket and got 3 apples and ate them back to back. Sure enough, I had a twin boy and a twin girl! So this indeed works.
So I did the watermelon thing and I ended up with 3 girls…Tyna, Tanika and Tannah. Then the son Tyson…

How do you swipe something for the grave yard? I have tried it and the female sim has that stealing trait but I cant figure out how to steal it.

hiya! and i want to say that you can on steal things at 7.00 and only three things so 7.00pm till i think somewhere AM then u cant and to steal things go to the thing u want to steal click on the floor it will say go here and and the other option will be swipe something click it and see what you got it will be in the inventory good luck hope i helped!
Hi I have a Tip/Hint where your Sim can kiss the person who you think is cute, just make a Sim and give it the inapropriate trait, whatever else is your choice

Ok so I did the watermelon thing but tried to have two girls one boy like to do 1 apple 2 watermelon no that dident works triplet girls and one was a ghost who was going to die in 5 days. So I was testing a few things.
The baby was dieing because instead of doing it the kleptomaniac way I killed the father tried for a baby and well the baby is gunna die in 5 days so that sucked

hiya! hi mya and i can help you ok so i know a cool cheat now first open the the cheat box shift+ ctrl +c then a cheat box will come up then type testingcheatsenabled then you go to needs and for example hunger and click on the hinger need and drag it down and till hes starving then it will kill him but prepare when he dies alll the sims in household will go WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA for days and days it got on my nerves but that is the only way to get a ghost and then sometimes at nght he will come it their music so u know its like bunny music to me and it will happen at night or u will here ghostly noises once i had triplets it came with 2 ghosts babies and 1 normal sims baby and with the two ghost babies theirs this creeepy noise and the ghosts have remains grave stones if u click on the remains in the inventory i think if u click on it it will say go back to nevverland i did that to the ghosts cos it creeped me out! so bad lol but im a wimp
hiya! and i have another way to kill a sim this is another way i did ok so i did the motherlode cheat u have to open the cheat box i told u that and u need a lot of money so keep doin motherlode then go to build mode and click that! then go on play mode then get a sim in the pool the 1 u want to kill then go back to build mode and build a wall wall around the pool ur sim is in then eventually he will drown and again the sims cry non stop untill a few weeks good luck!! this way is easier as well reply to me to let me no how u go on bye!
I swiped the remains and it said it is now in your family inventory but I can’t find it. So that means I also can’t put it anywhere.
hiya! and family inventory is in buy mode its the box it might say storage or family inventory click on it its should be their good luck!
Can someone tell me where the remains apper because there not showing up in my inventory, and I don’t know if u actually have to place a grave on the lot.
Cameron, if it says the reamins are in your Family Inventory, then you have to go to buy mode to access the Family Inventory.

The apple & watermelon thing mostly works. I’ve tried it so many times..
& I think that it you are already gonna get a girl & eat a watermelon you can get twin girls. I tried it.
But I couldn’t really find that strange bush in the grave yard =/

how do i get a doctor in my house to find out the babies gender?
Have the father, or some type of guest over to check the gender. They have to be on a certain level of doctoring in the game though, to check the gender of the baby.
You have to eat the fruit BEFORE you get the official notice that you are pregnant. You have to be a doctor level 5 to determind the gender of the baby. If you become friends with the docotr Jamie Jollina, you can ask her. Im not sure which town she is in, but i think it is Sunset Valley. If you cant find her, enter testingcheatsenabled true into the cheat bar; and then hold down shift,click on the mail box, select choose career,chose medical profesion, and set it to career level 5! hope it helps, this is all true because i am a sims addict and have done it many times!!! I have a cheats guide on the sims 3 website, go their for more hints!
Also, if you want twins, enter the testing cheats code, then enter forcetwins! i warn you that having twins or triplets too early in the game can ruin it. My family, Ella and Cory Gilmore, had twin girls (Vivian and Lila) and it made evry thing too hard. If you ever have any questions (not techy just basic game stuff) just post it, im the sims guru!!!

How do you get a death fish
To get a death fish, try fishing in the graveyard after midnight and before 6 am. Using bait and having a higher fishing skill helps.
I got my sim to have the kleptomaniac trait and I went to the graveyard but I couldn’t steal the remains can anyone help me?
you cant steal some remains, if you hover over the remains and it just says remains it wont work, you need to hover over a gravestone, and it say someones name then you can swipe them…
You have to click anywhere near the remains and the sims will swipe anyone of them if she doesnt swipe a mans remains try again then if it’s still a woman’s remains wait until the next day to go back and steal more

HAVE A RANDOM BABY MAMA IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD (You must be a male Sim):
Turn on testingcheatsenabled true.
Righclick mailbox and “Make Me Know Everyone”
Select ANY GIRL SIM YOU WANT that populates in your cue.
Righclick the relationship bar all the way to the top. (You automatically have a really good relationship with this Sim girl now. woot!)
Invite her over!
Rightclick on her and “Add [her] to Active Family”. Now she’s controlable!
Romance her until you can “Try for Baby,” and do that.
Once she is pregnant (you hear the baby sound after woohoo or she is having nausea), kick her out of the house by going AS HER to her cell phone and selecting “Move.” Make sure you check the box on the bottom that says “Kick Out” when you’re selecting where she moves. This way she will randomly populate somewhere in the neighborhood. Hit “Okay”
Now she’s OUT OF YOUR HOUSE AND PREGNANT WITH YOUR KID!!!!!
No lie, a few days later you will end up with a emoticon that shows “Baby Girl!” or “Baby Boy!” Yet you won’t have any other indication you’re a father. You can go into your sim guy’s family tree and see the baby he had with this random chick!
But here’s the kicker: If you track her down and go over to her lot, the baby won’t be there. It’s like she gave it up for adoption! You can develop a relationship with the kid, but only when its old enough to visit lots on its own.
