The Sims 3 World Adventures Reviews

Based on just how well all the content is implemented in World Adventures, it’s clear that the Sims team have become experts at this. The price might prompt some justifiable hesitation, but the adventures and the rest of the new content make for an excellent refresh of the five-month-old Sims 3, and will leave little in the way of buyer’s remorse. A worthy beginning for what will surely be a long line of expansion packs.
But it’s not just the extraction of wealth that counts in life and Destination Adventure offers different perks. The view “map” can admire the vast size of each new area and its many picturesque places to visit. Place of typical French village, souk Egyptian perfume of spice, Zen Garden Asian sounding … The scenery is real and really raise the value of a tired gameplay that often profane. Many skills are also their unusual appearances, as charming snake wine making or practice martial arts.
In general, our travel adventures are not only the beautifully designed holiday destinations and Crypt-added expeditions, but a considerable momentum of additional game content, new recipes, or plant seeds on clothing, furniture, components for houses to personality traits. Even the normal The Sims 3 on to win this diversity. As a nice motivation to turn out new collections, for the many artifacts in the game are grouped together. The spurs on to track down about every antique vases. Photography also brings many lists with predefined motifs. The scan found all alone and busy for hours.
Well! What a major difference when you experience a pleasant game play! This review will be based off WA that is installed on my laptop due to previously explained issues with my desktop. My game is also patched/up-to-date because I decided to just go ahead and try the patches since there was another one afterward. I had no CC when I first began and then later I added only Store CC because of the latest .package issues.

All in all The Sims World Adventure is a very worthy addition to any Sims fan’s collection. But then if you are an avid Sims fan you would have bought this already. The variety of gameplay elements, especially the new goal driven adventures, makes for a compelling visit to far off places. It also adds a bit of credibility for those manly men who have been looking for the right time to admit that they do play the odd game of The Sims. It is the best The Sims has had to offer so far. Until the inevitable second expansion, that is.

There are three pyramids in Egypt, Pyramid of the Burning Sands, The Great Pyramid and the Pyramid of the Wind. I wanted to send my Sim to explore the Great Pyramid, but I quickly finished the exploration … I didn’t have the right keystone to continue. And before writing something, I’ll need to tell you something else. When completing the adventures (or opportunities, whatever you prefer) you’ll get Ancient Coins, that can be used for buying special items, like food that will also re-generate some energy or escape dust. To buy those things, you’ll need at least visa level 1, besides the coins to pay for the stuff! Ok, now to write what I wanted, amongst these special items, there’s a skeleton key, that should work as a master key that would unlock all locks you don’t have any keys for. But as of now, those keystones don’t work at all … oh well, I hope EA releases new patch soon.

While working on World Adventures, I did not develop a favorite between the three destinations. Each location offers something special — a certain unique local flavor. It’s not just limited to the architecture either, which is definitely different for each location. Local identity is also quite personal. You find it in the little things. Egypt, for example, is the only place where Sims can buy a snake charming basket and then start practicing this special ability. The longer your Sim charms, the better they get at it. Soon, they can snake charm for tips and even coax a cobra out of the basket. (The cobra is pretty cool. If you ever get a mummy’s curse, the cobra is one of the surprising cures for the nasty hex.) Plus, you can take that snake charming basket back home when your visa to Egypt expires and play with it there, much to the amazement of friends and neighbors.

Since the release of Sims 3: World Adventures on Tuesday, I’ve been taking one of my Sims from place to place to see what each of the three countries included in the expansion pack had to offer. One of the big aspects of The Sims for me is everyday life for my Sims. So while watching Celia travelling the globe was enjoyable, I wanted to know how the EP was going to impact the game when the novelty of adventures and travelling wears off. So in this final instalment, I’m going to show you a little bit of the aftermath of what Celia’s adventures have brought to her life in Sunset Valley.

World Adventures was released in the UK two days ago, on Friday and since then, I’ve been playing the game constantly. According to Raptr, over the release weekend, I’ve played 25 hours of the game, which is over half of my weekend. I’ve trailed out each destination and each skill, subsequently getting a good feel for the game. In this review, I’ll share my favourite parts of the game and the points which I deemed negative (luckily, there’s only a few).

With an immense following and many years of success, The Sims has considerable renown in the genre of social simulation. Much of its popularity is owed to an excellent design, which is not only crafted with outstanding attention to detail, but also goes the extra mile to maintain a genuinely fun atmosphere. The ignorant bystander might find your average play session quite befuddling, and wonder about the strange language the characters seem to be babbling in. Yet as any Sims fan will attest, The Sims is a game that must be played in order to be appreciated.
OK I admit, I came here expecting to see the Sims 3 version of Vacation or Bon Voyage, based on the first snippets of info to come out about World Adventures. One reason being that because I have known for some weeks that I would be here previewing the EP, I tried to avoid reading most of the earlier sneak peeks posted by the big gaming sites because I wanted to write an article based on my own experience of the game without thinking about those other comments and comparisons. As it turns out, I now see that you can’t really compare World Adventures to the earlier Vacation based EP’s as rest and relaxations is certainly not what Adventuring is about. I’m over that comparison now and I see World Adventures as more of a mini-game within the game, like the old, original role playing games seen on the PC. And that’s not a bad thing. You could totally loose yourself as an adventure. In fact, by collecting relics and treasure and building your skills as you go, it’s entirely possible (and tempting to me) for a Sim to make a career out of Adventuring!
So let’s dive down into the Egyptian paradise that is The Sims 3 World Adventures! Firstly, new lifetime wishes are available. A few were published in SimOperations interview with Lyndsay Pearson, but we also managed to discover a new one: Seasoned Traveller. The seasoned traveller lifetime wish icon is a book with a globe on and its objective (to achieve 60,000 lifetime happiness points) is to reach the maximum visa level for all three destinations. As with the base lifetime wishes, there are new wishes to aid that.

In a few weeks Sims 3 players will get the opportunity to travel to new lands in the first of what’s sure to be many expansions of Electronic Arts’ blockbuster franchise. Called World Adventures, the new content will add in the travel destinations of Egypt, France, and China, along with a host of other additions which you can read about in our previous coverage. While previously EA had shown off the dusty tombs and ancient monuments of Egypt, this time China was opened up, and I had a chance to toy around with some of new features here.
The Sims 3 was released earlier this year and it added new depth to the pastime of controlling the lives of little computer people as they lived, loved, aspired to lofty ambitions, and got into hilarious catfights. The first expansion for the game, World Adventures, will add three new huge areas to explore (China, France, and Egypt), along with intriguing new puzzle-based gameplay, tons of new environments and character clothing, new moneymaking options, and new character traits. And we got the first look.
With the release of The Sims 3 this past June, the franchise’s massive player base got the opportunity to dive into a less rigid, more open world than ever before. Judging by reviews and subsequent sales, pretty much everyone is happy with what Electronic Arts did to push the franchise forward while maintaining the key elements that make The Sims such a distinct gaming experience. It’s true when you say there really isn’t anything else like it.
My addiction to the Sims series gives me a lot of tolerance for endless expansions and stuff packs that add new dimensions and new furniture to gameplay. However, I do have high standards. The Sims: Superstar was a revelation in college that nearly cost me my grade point average. Ever since, I’ve been consuming Sims expansions at a steady rate – always looking for that same sense of wonder and entertainment that makes me forget to eat. Here’s how World Adventures measures up.
Train – At this stage your Sim can train at the Phoenix Academy of Martial Arts, but if you’d like to practice at home, a training dummy, board breaker, and books, are available for purchase to return home with. And to truly master the art, you’ll have to compete in the Grand Tournament of China and defeat several formidable opponents. Have fun!
SimFans.de – In this Expansion Pack we will see first time real world inspired landmarks. What will our Sims visit in Egypt, France and China? In Egypt: pyramids, sphinx, abu simbel temple, temple of queen hapshepsut…
You’ve heard a lot about Egypt and we’re excited to tell you more about the two additional locations to explore in The Sims 3 World Adventures. In Shang SimLa, China, your Sims can master Kung-Fu or just enjoy the scenery and fireworks. Shang Simla is a peaceful, isolated community in the mountainous region of China. Founded by a group of monks long ago, the locals take pride in their discipline and mental clarity. They enjoy visitors, but encourage tourists to spend their visit in a peaceful and respectful manner. Shang SimLa, China is home to people that value discipline, peace and clarity of mind over all else. While there, adventurers are encouraged to visit the Academy to learn the Martial Arts skill, then head to the Scholar’s Garden for introspective meditation. While there, purchase some fireworks to fill the Shang Simla night sky with colorful explosions!
